GCM carried only three jumpers and it may now seem that it would be inadequate to conduct a parachute centre but in those days Southern Cross Skydivers had been jumping from Piper Tri-Pacers and the occasional Cessna 182.   A brand new Cessna 185 used by Southern Cross was the best jumpship in the country.

GCM served its operators and Labertouche Sport Parachute Centre well, it flew out of a small (2200 ft) strip carrying close to maximum loads for a number of years without ever being out of service except for routine maintenance.
